This year’s theme: Sustainability pluralism: approaches, regions, actors

It is time to explore new directions in how we formulate the problem of sustainability and devise responses to it. This year’s theme, framed by Torsten Krause’s keynote address ‘Epistemic pluralism in interdisciplinary research – Where are we now and where are we heading?’, addresses both the opportunities and challenges that such an undertaking entail.

Invited key speaker is Torsten Krause from Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies (Torsten Krause - Lund University).

The Agenda 2030 Graduate School has organized four PhD conferences on sustainable development, each highlighting a specific theme. The next conference will take place on 9 October 2025.

The aim with the conference is to showcase ongoing research and networking opportunities for PhD students from the whole university. It will be a space to meet and share ideas and research, and hopefully strengthen existing as well as generate future collaboration across disciplines, departments and faculties. All PhD students at Lund University with an interest in sustainable development, broadly conceived, are welcome to join. If there is enough space, you are also welcome to participate if you are a master's student or PhD students from another university.
