A central part of the programme was participation in Farewell Falsterbo, a soundwalk presenting two contrasting future scenarios set in 2072 – one more hopeful and one more dystopian, where large parts of the area are under water. Prior to the walk, participants had read scientific texts on flood risk as well as on sustainability from a justice perspective. The experience was followed by joint discussions, providing a shared foundation for dialogue on long‑term environmental change, responsibility and societal choices.
Alongside the thematic programme, time was dedicated to networking, mutual support and planning ahead. The retreat created space to acknowledge frustration related to current developments – or the lack of progress – in the sustainability field, while also offering an opportunity to find motivation, direction and reassurance through collective discussion. The kickoff also marked the initial steps in shaping future activities, including preparations looking ahead to 2026.
