Workshop series on the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals

In the spring of 2024, the Agenda 2030 research school will organise a workshop series on the SDGs in collaboration with other research schools at Lund University.
The aim of this workshop series is to look at some of the Sustainable Development Goals of which we currently are furthest away from achieving and to have a joint dialogue in what are the problems, what knowledge do we possess and could we possibly find any solutions together through the work on subject cases.

In 2023, the adopted 2030 Agenda reached its halfway point in its implementation. But despite impressive engagement from organizations to governments around the Sustainable Development Goals, almost all the goals are off track. Yet it should not be forgotten that every inch of progress is important and counts in the long run. While science does not directly provide general policy solutions, it plays a central role in advancing human well-being and finding new solutions on which policy could be based. One cannot find all solutions, but when different perspectives and knowledge are combined it is also a potential kick-start in problem-solving and knowledge production.

The workshops will start with inspirational talks by experts in various fields connected to the topic, followed by a workshop where participants collectively work on selected cases. It is possible to join only one workshop or all four, depending on your interests. All workshops will be given on site. Location is specified for each workshop.

There will be a limited number of seats, so please register via respective links. Let us also know if you will be unable to make it by sending an email to Ylva van Meeningen (ylva [dot] van_meeningen [at] cec [dot] lu [dot] se). We can then offer your seat to someone else.
