Ilili Abdulahi

Department of Translational Medicine

About me

I am a PhD student at Lund University medical faculty, department of translational medicine. I hold a degree of Doctor of Medicine and a master's degree in public health. Professionally, I have worked mostly on communicable diseases focusing on TB and HIV programs at different posts in Ethiopia's health system and international NGOs working in Ethiopia.

About my research

My PhD project explores why HIV transmission persists in the era of antiretroviral therapy (ART) rollout in Ethiopia. I study the patterns of HIV transmission and examine how persons with ongoing viral replication during ART contribute to transmission. With this project, I also investigate the prevalence of drug-resistance mutations and outcome of the cohort.
