About me
I am a doctoral candidate within the Department of Political Science. My background is in human rights advocacy with various community-based and international organizations, and in research on gender and climate topics for academic and policy-relevant outputs. I hold a Master of Social Science in Peace and Conflict Studies from Uppsala University.
About my research project
My research project explores how climate change impacts local communities and implications for peace. I seek to address how peace can be climate sensitive, examining questions of climate resiliency and structural inequalities. In particular, I am interested in how intersectionalities shape a person's access to or experience of positive peace and climate adaptation benefits.
This research seeks to enhance understanding and address challenges of both social and environmental sustainability. I aim to address peace and climate with particular relevance for the Agenda 2030 and SDGs. Specifically, I highlight Goal 13 on climate action; Goal 16 on peace, justice, and strong institutions; Goal 5 on gender equality; and Goal 10 on reduced inequalities.
