About me
My educational background is within financial economics and development economics. After graduation, I have been working for a short period within sustainable public procurement in Paris.
About my research project
My research project is about decentralised off-grid electrification solutions, with focus on the energy relevant region of sub-Saharan Africa. As an alternative to extending conventional on-grid electrical grids, I will evaluate decentralised electrification projects’ impact toward environmental and socioeconomic development.
My project is connected to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and mostly so related towards ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all (SDG 7), but also considering spill-over effects towards other SDGs.
With a background in development economics, my focus is twofold. First by evaluating the usage of satellite night-time light imagery as a tool for monitoring decentralised off-grid electrification projects’ success, and second, to assess a wide array of socioeconomic development following the electrification projects.
